In today's Council of Ministers meeting, there will be a discussion on the blueprint for merger and abolition of ministries, sources said. The government has started preparations to abolish some ministries and merge some to establish new names. According to the information provided by the sources close to the Prime Minister and Cabinet Office, the current four ministries are being abolished. Likewise, the work to establish the new names of 6 other ministries has reached the final stage. 4 ministries will be canceled and 6 will be renamed. Some of them will be separated from the existing ministries and placed under the Prime Minister," said a source in the Prime Minister's Office. A minister informed that the blueprint will be submitted in today's cabinet meeting. The government also formed a 5-member working group under the coordination of Govinda Bahadur Karki, Secretary of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Office, to prepare a blueprint for the merger and cancellation of ministries. The working group proposed that there should be 17 ministries in the union. Based on the same proposal, the government has made such preparations, sources said. According to the preparations made by the government, the ministries of youth and sports, drinking water and sanitation, urban development and federal affairs and general administration are being abolished. The Ministry of Youth and Sports will be separated. Sports will be merged into the Ministry of Education and will be named as 'Ministry of Education and Sports'. The government is preparing to name the separated youth as 'Ministry of Gender Equality and Social Development' by integrating the Ministry of Health and Population and Social Security with the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens. Sanitation will be separated from the Ministry of Water and Sanitation, which will be taken over by the Ministry of Health
